Diabetes
Arthritis Diet should consist of cold water fish like salmon, tune, mackerel and mullet. They contain omega 3 fish oils which help reduce inflammation when consumed over a period of a few months. Also proteo-glycans (in oats, tripe, irish moss, mussels) and vitamin C (citrus fruits, paw paws, berries, vegetables) help repair tissues. Silicon is important for bone strength and can be found in wholegrain cereal, nuts, citrus fruits, apple pectin. Of course, vegetables and salads provide fibre, vitamins, and trace minerals which all help maintain health and cleanse the system. You should avoid fatty foods, fried foods, pastries, biscuits, confectionery and foods known to aggravate the condition - like chilli, capsicum, eggplant, potato, tomato and salicylate-rich foods.

Lifestyle Renewal - Medical Practitioners in parts of Australia have now joined a nationwide campaign to encourage their patients to improve their health by paying attention to their lifestyle and to a renewal of lifestyle which means a change in diet, attitude, being active and alternative ways which improve their quality of life.. Health tips are offered by doctors, which include eating fresh fruit and vegetables, taking regular exercise, drinking enough pure water, overcoming depression and anxiety, being a vibrant, positive part of the community. Most of the information that the doctors are now promoting is already detailed in the Lifestylerenewal and Health information booklet available on the website www.lifestylerenewal.com
Relaxing - Lie on a towel or comfortable mat placed on the floor with your legs stretched out and arms by your side. Close your eyes and gently breathe in slowly and deeply. Ease any tension by contracting and releasing all of your muscles. First, concentrate on the muscles in your forehead and face, then shrug your shoulders bringing them towards your ears and release them. Work your way down you body i.e. tense your arms and release them, then abdomen, buttocks, legs and feet. Hold each tension for 5 seconds before release. Our changing attitude towards the menace of alcohol and drug abuse.
In most Western societies, there is great pressure on people to drink alcohol and to try drugs. It is part of our way of life to mix socially, whether at a party, social function, at a pub, disco, or just mixing with friends. For teenagers and young adults, drugs and alcohol are seen as a means of relief of stress, anxiety and problems. To be accepted within your peer group or gang you feel compelled to drink alcohol while under aged and experiment with drugs. A habit and reliance on these substances can remain for a lifetime. A person who does not drink or try drugs is usually the odd one out at parties, at the disco, social gathering, or with friends. In many societies, drinking of alcohol by young males is considered as an initiation into manhood. In other societies drinking alcohol is forbidden.
It is hard to resist this intense pressure, because your friends tell you to "chill out" or "loosen up" and "be sociable" by joining them in having a drink or smoke, or drug session. There is pressure to conform to be accepted. Over the last couple of decades, advertising campaigns in the media have brought about a greater awareness of the detrimental effects of alcohol and drugs. Both are known to cause great social problems and to be addictive. Taking the wrong drug, over abuse and consumption of too much alcohol can ruin lives and even lead to death, or long lasting health ailments. Higher penalties for drink driving have led to a reduction in deaths on the road, but drug related crimes, however, are on the increase.
Tighter legislation has come into force in most countries to control the sale of non-prescription drugs. In the past, advertising on the media has promoted a pill popping society, so that we have become conditioned to using drugs to relieve headaches, stress and general pain. We often drink or smoke dope because we are bored, frustrated, nervous or feeling depressed. There are much healthier ways to escape these feelings. Here are just a few suggested remedies : - participation in sport, drama, music, reading a good book, getting involved with a group of people who think positive, having a goal in life, hobbies, a good job, doing something for the community, or just helping a friend.

Happiness Unfortunately life does not come with an instruction book and compass.
Thus we can sometimes get confused on which direction we should be taking.
Our goals and achievements would be so much simpler.
Knowing what’s wrong or knowing what you want is the start.
The first most important thing is to start feeling good about yourself.
It is all about you. You set the goals, and you set out to challenge them.
The major thing that stops our goals from being in reach is sometimes some negative thinking. It is so much easier to think, oh I will could never do that anyway, or it is all too hard. Your not going to reach any goals talking and thinking like this.
Stop and think about your current skills, talents and what other people appreciate and like about you.
Only when you are positive, can you go forward on to the next level. It’s time to believe in yourself.

West Papua - the population of this region has been devastated by genocide, rape and torture by the Indonesian authorities for more than 30 years. The International press has been denied access and the attrocities have remained unreported. The indigenous population is less than one fifth of the original population and could become extinct within 8 years. The pristine environment of West Papua is being rapidly destroyed by illegal logging of the rainforest and the poison chemicals from the Freeport mine - the world's largest goldmine has poisoned the river downstream so fish is no longer edible.
